Williamson misses Kempton mounts

Norman Williamson will sit out the next couple of days after damaging his wrist ligaments at Leopardstown.

Williamson rode 11-8 favourite Ned Kelly to win yesterday`s AIG Irish Champion Hurdle but gave up his remaining mounts after injuring himself in a fall in the previous race.

Williamson`s agent Dave Roberts confirmed he will miss his four rides at Kempton today but expects his lay-off to be relatively short.

He said: 'He`s having a couple of days off because he`s a bit sore but he should be back on Wednesday.'
