WOLVERHAMPTON IN THE CLEAR Wolverhampton`s evening meeting will go ahead tonight despite being within yards of a foot-and-mouth exclusion zone. A case of the disease has been confirmed at a sheep farm at Burnhill Green which is approximately 11½ kilometres away from Dunstall Park. But it was confirmed last night by a British Horseracing Board spokesman that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food have decreed the track is just clear of the boundaries of the exclusion zone around the infected area. Wolverhampton has been one of the busiest courses since the resumption of racing on March 7th, staging five meetings, most recently on Thursday.
