Youmzain Beaten In Germany Youmzain could finish only fourth in his attempt to secure a second Group One success in Germany.Mick Channon's King George And Queen Elizabeth Stakes second was held-up in the early stages of the 135th Grosser Preis von Baden, before jockey Richard Hughes asked him to take closer order with half a mile to run.The pair were pushed wide on entering the home straight and while Youmzain stayed on inside the final two furlongs, he never looked like getting competitive in the 12-furlong heat.Following a photo-finish, the verdict went to Quijano, who just held the late rally of German Derby winner Adlerflug. That pair fought out the finish between them, with Egerton grabbing third ahead of Channon's British raider.Three times a winner in Dubai earlier in the year, Quijano is likely to be a major player in the big races to come through the autumn.'This is an unbelievable horse. He now has many options in different countries,' said winning trainer Peter Schiergen.Channon blamed a lack of pace for Youmzain's effort, a view echoed by Mountain High's rider Ryan Moore after Sir Michael Stoute's charge had weakened into eighth after being hampered.(C) PA Sport
