Youmzain Booked For Dubai

Youmzain heads a stellar list of horses accepted for the 2008 Dubai International Racing Carnival.

Mick Channon's colt finished runner-up to Dylan Thomas in both the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe this year.

Although winless since scoring in September 2006, Youmzain finished a close third in the Dubai Sheema Classic in March and a repeat bid is very much on the cards.

Channon said: 'Youmzain came straight to the Sheema Classic last year without a run, but we might aim him first at the (Group Three) Dubai City Of Gold over the same distance.

'We've got a great team for Dubai, with another Group One winner in Majestic Roi and also Halicarnassus, who I have a lot of faith in.

'The Carnival and Dubai World Cup meeting have both gone from strength to strength over the years, and I can tell you that any trainer who doesn't consider these races is not doing his job properly.

'It gives you the chance and incentive to keep good horses in training, and it's fantastic to see all these horses from all over the place coming to Dubai. It makes the world of racing that much smaller.'

Eagle Mountain, Asiatic Boy and Quijano are also among the high-profile acceptors for the Carnival, which begins on January 17.
