Youmzain Fine After French Flop

Options are open for Youmzain after Mick Channon´s colt finished fifth behind Mountain High in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud on Sunday.

The Sinndar colt matured into a very classy individual in 2006, ending his campaign with a Group One success in Germany after previously running Rail Link to half a length at Longchamp.

Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner Jaber Abdullah, feels there were excuses for his recent eclipse and says Youmzain could be seen in action again soon.

'He came back very well from France. Things just didn´t go particularly well for him there because there wasn´t much pace on,' he said.

'He was a bit out of it from the start as he was stuck behind Mandesha and couldn´t really move until halfway up the straight, which was far too late.

'There are no immediate plans, but the two possibilities are the Princess Of Wales´s Stakes or the King George (VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes).

'It just depends on what the connections would like to do.'
