Zarkava May Head Straight To Longchamp

Zarkava´s team have not yet decided whether to give their superstar filly an outing before the French 1000 Guineas.

Trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre and owner the Aga Khan have elected to head for Longchamp and the Poule d´Essai des Pouliches rather than Newmarket for the English version, but no more plans have been announced.

Zarkava has only raced twice so far, both at Longchamp, but she has made a giant impact.

After landing her maiden, she looked in trouble in the Group One Prix Marcel Boussac but absolutely flew home as soon as she found a gap and won easily.

"The trainer is concentrating on running Darjina in Dubai this weekend, but Zarkava is fine, said George Rimaud, the owner´s racing manager, from Australia.

"We are aiming for the French Guineas and will probably get a run into her before that, but not necessarily."
