Seven pound claimer Dean Sinnott rode his second winner and his first over hurdles when bringing through Good Tradition from an unpromising position to win the Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey (C & G) Maiden Hurdle.
As pace-setter Holy Water and well-backed favourite Borderlinedecision (let down by his jumping) duelled-up front inside the last three quarters of a mile, Good Tradition still had plenty to do in behind.
However Dermot Weld's runner made relentless progress from before the straight, he challenged from before the last, leading in the closing stages to beat Holy Water and Borderlinedecision by a length and a half and a neck.
Borderlinedecision was tightened up between horses close home but it was no surprise to hear the no alteration message after a steward's enquiry.
"He was a bit lazy going around. I had my stick in my right hand to keep him straight so hopefully I'll be okay," said Sinnott.
"I've schooled him a bit and he is a bit lazy. I'm delighted to get the winner.
"He was always picking up down the back and I gave him a bit of a breather down the back. When I gave him a smack down the shoulder in fairness he kept finding.
"I've been working for Mr Weld for a year-and-a-half and I absolutely love it. All the lads in the yard are so helpful and it's just great to get the chances.
"Hisaabaat was my first winner on my first ride."
The Stewards enquired into possible interference from the final flight involving Good Tradition, ridden by Mr D. Sinnott, placed first, Holy Water, ridden by B.M. Cash, placed second and Borderlinedecision, ridden by N.P. Madden, placed third.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.
Capt.S.H.Walford absented himself from this enquiry.
