Messidor made it third-time-lucky at Dundalk today as the Joseph O'Brien trained filly landed the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden under jockey Declan McDonogh.

The daughter of Vadamos finished second on debut at Leopardstown in August but finished just sixth when the 8/11 favourite at Down Royal in September and today scored a comfortable two and a quarter lengths win over Golden Lyric

Afterwards McDonogh stated “she had a lovely first run and then at Down Royal the ground was soft and I was on the wrong part of the track.

“She’s a lovely good moving filly and would appreciate that sound surface. She’s growing all the time and I’m hoping she can improve. A lovely big filly.”
