Willie Mullins brought up his fourth winner on the day from four races (two at Punchestown and two in Cork) as French import Valseur Lido went into many a notebook in Cork.

The four-year-old gelding led from the fourth flight and emphatically drew clear coming to the last as he hacked up by 13 lengths at 5/2. Voluptueux (7/1) won the race for second, half a length in front of Valmy Baie at 12/1. The 2/1 favourite, Blow The Doors Off could make no further headway from the second last and came in fourth of the 14 runners.

Paul Townend, who was on board his second winner of the day, said: “He’s a lovely horse and he could be a good one. Anytime I asked him he picked up again and he was professional. He jumped the last out of my hands and I’d say he has an engine alright.”

Valseur Lido had won a bumper in France last year before landing this two mile maiden hurdle.
