Pearl Warrior recorded back to back successes with a cosy front-running win in the Perennial Freight Rated Race at Tramore.

Johnny Murtagh 's charge had scored at Sligo 10 days ago and went to post an even-money shot in the mile-and-a-half contest to follow up.

Shane Kelly bounced his mount out in front and he had his rivals at work running down the hill.

The Dunaden gelding galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a comprehensive five-and-a-half length win over Champagne Terri

Winning owner Paddy Woods said:- “Johnny always liked him, even as a two-year-old. He was a little bit backward and Johnny just brought him along slowly.

“He's improving all the time and with every race he seems to be growing up a little more.

“He handles those bends and he's very simple, Shane said he's very easy to ride.

“We'll see what the handicapper says now. He's in at Killarney on Thursday and he might run there.”

Woods has rode the gelding himself in charity races and added:- “I mightn't be allowed to ride him now!”
