FormscanBy Donal Murphy - Second and third in the Triumph Hurdle behind Vauban, just a neck separated Fil Dor and PIED PIPER. With both on the same mark of 147, it is difficult to split the Gordon Elliott-trained, Caldwell Construction Ltd owned pair. Pied Piper has race fitness on his side and gets the nod for that reason alone. The New Approach chestnut was controversially demoted to second after dead-heating for first with Knight Salute at Aintree in April, but he got revenge on that rival by beating him at Cheltenham last month. Fil Dor has filled the runner-up spot behind Vauban on his last three starts and it's surprising to see him in the line-up. A recent Elliott stable tour indicated that he would go straight over fences this season. Bonarc was third in this race 12 months ago and could finish in that position again.
