FormscanBy Alan Magee - DEFILADE gets the vote despite some doubts about this trip being on the sharp side. The Bated Breath gelding has been lightly-raced since a promising second to Killourney at Gowran Park last year and has dropped down in the ratings after trying a variety of trips this season. He came home well over course and distance last month in a race that has been working out and is preferred to Mulzamm, who has progressed in leaps and bounds this year winning three times. Hieroglyphic and Kokura have both won maidens over course and distance, while Miss Cunning has recorded all three wins at this venue and provided Jessica O’Gorman with a dream start to her riding career last time. Eglish completed an all-weather hat-trick earlier this year but has disappointed since a promising fourth at Naas in July. The booking of Colin Keane catches the eye and perhaps the return to Dundalk can rekindle the spark.
