FormscanBy Mark Nunan - SHAWAAMEKH can continue the fine form of Johnny Levins. A three-time winner in Britain, the eight-year-old went in at the first time of asking for his new yard when scoring at Cork in May and has been placed on his last three starts. His Galway festival second to a horse completing a four-timer was an excellent effort and this tactically versatile performer can defy a 3lb higher mark. Earls is another hard-knocking type of handicapper and has four wins on the board. He is held by the selection on Galway form but had previously been touched off at Limerick which was the third time he’s been runner-up this term. Is That Love had a whale of a time last year with six wins, the last of which was when beating Earls decisively at the Listowel festival. His comeback second at Fairyhouse suggests he may not be done with yet. Dual Sligo winner Band Width failed to land a blow from a bad draw at Galway but had previously been unlucky in running when close up behind Earls at Limerick.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards (90 = 10st)Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
