FormscanBy Mark Nunan - It was only July of 2020 when STANHOPE was gaining the most recent of his four victories off a mark of 80. He’s dropped down a long way in the ratings since then but has shown a bit of spark again in recent starts at Navan and last time at the Curragh. He stayed on strongly when third to Curraheen Princess (won again since) on the latter occasion and even off a 2lb higher mark he looks to be well treated. His recent form has been over 5f but he should get 6f at this venue. Sunset Nova represents a stable in fine form and comes here after gaining a fourth win at Dundalk ten days ago while Eglish has won five times on all-weather surfaces and returned to form when second at Dundalk on the same evening. The latter can race off an 11lb lower turf mark here and Ado McGuinness has done well at Laytown over the years.
