FormscanBy Tom Weekes - PALACE ROCK is a work-in-progress being a big four year old and ran well on handicap hurdle debut in a Grade B handicap at Killarney in May. His latest flat run at Gowran was also good and looks likely to better his 120 rating as he gains experience. Persia is 6lbs better off with Dark Voyager for a 0.25L defeat at Galway latest and can turn placings, with both horses having solid claims. Flying Scotsman, under Mark Walsh, won a 4yo handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe in August, beating Varna Gold by a head with Glorious Zoff third. It was a return to form for Glorious Zoff and each cannot be dismissed with Flying Scotsman, which made mistakes, likely to improve jumping-wise. Son Of Hypnos, a three-time flat winner, is 6lbs higher than when winning at Galway while Perry Owens, a maiden hurdle winner at this distance, ran well over 2m5f at Galway latest but might ideally prefer further. Barnacullia beat Trebizond to win at Wexford and both step up in grade while Malina Girl, a bumper winner, won on hurdles debut also at Wexford and faces a stiffer task.
