FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - Some of these newcomers really catch the eye on breeding – the likes of Blue Hen, Hidden Harmony, Lily Light Foot and Monas Melody – but at least until we see how the betting develops it may be best to side with something with experience. That probably chiefly leaves us with BANOGUE’S BONUS and Negroni. This observer narrowly comes down in favour of Banogue’s Bonus, though it’s either brave or stupid going with a pilot in search of their first racecourse winner over a record breaking champion amateur in Patrick Mullins. Peter Jay Kavanagh rides Banogue’s Bonus and this filly made a pleasing start when second over hurdles at Cork last month. She probably didn’t help herself by being keen on that occasion. She’s a half-sister to an Arkle winner in Western Warhorse. Meanwhile Peter Jay Kavanagh has two point-to-point wins under his belt having started out as an apprentice on the Flat having gone to R.A.C.E.
