FormscanBy Tom Weekes - NOTRE BELLE BETE's debut run in last month's Leopardstown 2,000 Guineas Trial was eye-catching and looks a horse who can win this Listed contest. Bravely pitched in at Listed level on debut, connections were vindicated with NOTRE BELLE BETE's performance and despite running green, finished strongly beating capable types and has since changed ownership. Ace Aussie did beat NOTRE BELLE BETE by 1L at Leopardstown and while clearly capable, might struggle to confirm placings today, as NOTRE BELLE BETE is very likely to improve. Magnanimous (sixth), Horoscope (seventh, now tried in first-time blinkers) and Merchants Quay (tenth, now runs in a first-time tongue-tie) were all well enough held in the Leopardtown race. Federal won on debut at Leoaprdstown last July and faces a tough enough task on reappearance while Storm Legend won an ordinary maiden easily on testing ground at Naas last November and faces stronger opposition today.
