FormscanBy Alan Magee - VAUBAN looked a smart juvenile hurdler when quickening up in fine style to score at the Dublin Racing Festival in Leopardstown and confirmed that impression when stamina was more at a premium in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding beat Fil Dor by three lengths at Leopardstown, with hurdle debutant Il Etait Temps nearly three lengths further back in third, and the margins were similar at Cheltenham last month. This return to more of a speed test will certainly not inconvenience the selection. Hms Seahorse was soundly beaten behind Vauban in a maiden here earlier in the season and put in a solid effort last time in the Boodles Handicap at Cheltenham.
