FormscanBy Mark Nunan - MARY SALOME won a 1m handicap on this card a year ago and should go well from the inside draw. Andrew Kinirons’ mare is only 1lb higher in the ratings now and she ran well when fourth to Drombeg Duke at Bellewstown in April. Her rider is good value for his claim and it’s only a matter of time until he gets a first winner on the board. The locally-trained Drombeg Duke, who bolted up over course and distance at last year’s festival meeting, has won three of his last five starts and has to defy an 8lb hike for his latest success. He’s obviously thriving and is likely to go close. Karlsberg won over 7f at Cork last term and was runner-up over 6f on her reappearance at the Curragh. She came home well over an inadequate trip at Navan and Colin Keane rides her for the first time.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 47-75Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
