FormscanBy Tom Weekes - BLACK TEARS can win on reappearance in an open enough looking race. She has progressed very well with her racing and did very well in last season's curtailed season, finishing up a fine runner-up effort in the Coral Cup. She lacks race-fitness against Buildmeupbuttercup but has beaten than rival comfortably twice in March and April 2019 and will be ready for her comeback here. Buildmeupbuttercup is a smart performer on the flat (she finished second in the Ascot Stakes in 2019) and while her jumping left her down on occasions over hurdles, she nonetheless ran solid races in goods handicaps last season and comes here in excellent form. She faces a stiffer task today than when winning at Gowran in October but is at peak condition today which will stand to her and should give the selection a real race. Magic Of Light was second in the 2019 Grand National and is clearly a very able mare. She makes her seasonal debut today (she was taken out of Clonmel on Thursday due to 'going') and while she should get involved at the business end, hasn't run since disappointing in February and also gives away weight. Elimay did very well in 2019/20 and comes here a little unexposed over hurdles. She did very well to win her last four races and while this is a slightly stiffer task today, could still go well but has a little to find on ratings. Daylight Katie looked a smart prospect last season but hasn't run for 380 days and is surely best watched on reappearance today.
