FormscanBy Tom Weekes - ARCTIC COMET has progressed well in point-to-points and can get off the mark on his first racecourse run. ARCTIC COMET initially showed little in his points but seemed to improve with every run last winter, culminating with a 5L defeat of Cloudy Tuesday at Kinsale in December. Cloudy Tuesday, a capable type, then won a Thurles hunters chase beating today's runner, a danger, Saint Benedict by 9.5L suggesting ARCTIC COMET has strong claims. Cemister, formerly with Willie Mullins, won a point-to-point for new connections at Stradbally last December but faces a much stiffer task today, albeit the booking of Jamie Codd is a big help. Dual points winner Pyrios is tried in first-time blinkers while Carrig Hill is also a dual points winner but is long absent.
