FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - Ado McGuinness has two in here, War Hero and SIRJACK THOMAS. Joint champion apprentice in 2019, Andrew Slattery, gets the leg-up on Sirjack Thomas, and the grey Fast Company gelding competed as recently as March, having had three outings over hurdles in the winter and spring. McGuinness said of the five-year-old recently: “He will mix it on the Flat and over hurdles. We have changed the way we have trained him but he’s a horse that we like. Off this mark, I think he’ll be competitive in a handicap hurdle and he’ll be a horse for the summer festivals.” Plenty need to be considered including Paddy Twomey’s Gallic. The Golden, County Tipperary handler commented on Gallic last month: “Andreas Putsch is a new owner to Irish racing. He bought this mare for 200,000 guineas at the Rothschild dispersal sale in Tattersalls last December. Ed Walker trained her to win over a mile and ten furlongs. She could be most effective over seven furlongs and a mile. We could look for a handicap before a Listed race.”
