FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - It’s hard to believe that you have to go back to dual winner, Wylde Hide in 1995 and 1996, for a J P McManus winner in this event. In no way was this race as well contested in those years, and this time McManus is three-handed, a challenge that is dwarfed by Gigginstown House Stud’s seven (and two reserves). One doesn’t have to delve too deep to like the chances of TEN TEN. Early favourite The Long Mile was taken out of the race last Thursday, and is instead being aimed at the Leopardstown Chase at the Dublin Racing Festival. Also for McManus and Philip Dempsey, Ten Ten is in here attractively, down the bottom of the weights with ten stone four and Simon Torrens helping further with his five pound claim. Despite his 12th place finishing position in the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown, Ten Ten actually came home in front of several of these rivals on that occasion. Discordantly and Roaring Bull did finish ahead of the selection then, but in truth that event was dominated from the front by Castlebawn West. Ten Ten looks like he’s coming to the boil nicely for this stamina test, which promises to be right up his alley. Many others need considering including Acapella Bourgeois, Any Second Now, Brahma Bull, Spyglass Hill and Coko Beach.
