FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - The Pioneer Racing colours have been very much to the fore in the month of July, with Calagogo scoring at Perth and Cartmel, whilst Wicklow Flyer triumphed in good style at Kilbeggan on Friday evening. There could be more to come for the owners here through Sulamani gelding MARS HARPER. This fellow triumphed at Down Royal last month, and as a course winning bumper debutant (last August) you’d imagine he’ll enjoy this assignment. In what has the makings of an interesting heat several others could come into it, and of those with official ratings already, Persia (116), is marginally ahead of The Little Yank (113) and Staging Post (110). In red-hot form Shane Fitzgerald’s seven pound claim is a help on Joseph O’Brien’s Kilbeggan victor, Asserted. The other three, namely Good Time Jonny, Hot Beat and King Lenox, are not completely without hope, though possibly best watched for the moment.
