FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - Local hope LEAHMAN was the choice of this observer when missing an engagement at Down Royal on September 4th. Terence O'Brien elected not to run on that occasion owing to the change in going. It was soft, yielding in places that afternoon. The surface is forecast to be on the lively side now. Leahman was noted making a couple of slight mistakes at Galway, but they were hardly the reason for his tailed off thirteenth of the fourteen finishers effort behind Nibblers Charm. He's down a pound in the ratings on the back of that performance. That still leaves his hurdles mark at 120 though, so he's bound to catch the eye off 46. He has of course tried to capitalise on that lowly rating in the past, without success. Joey Sheridan claims five off him here, and with just eight stone eight on his back the Lawman gelding is surely going to be on the premises at the business end. Any number of others seem capable of making an impression. At the foot of the weights course winning hurdler Rip Rocks Paddy Ok is certainly respected in a first-time tongue-strap.
