FormscanBy Alan Magee - A PLUS TARD looks the one they all have to beat. The French-bred gelding has won here at the Christmas Festival for the past two years and really burst onto the three-mile scene when getting up close home to beat Kemboy and Melon in this race 12 months ago. He subsequently ran a cracker when beating all bar stablemate Minella Indo in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and looked as good as ever when returning to slam his rivals in the Betfair Chase at Haydock. Galvin won the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and has progressed again this term putting up a career best last time when runner-up to Frodon at Down Royal. Janidil was a Grade 1 winning novice at Fairyhouse last spring and again ran well over 2m4f on his seasonal debut when runner-up to stablemate Allaho at Punchestown. He’s unexposed over three miles. Kemboy and Melon look sure to give a good account while Delta Work invariably improves from his first run of the season.
