Formscan By Gary Carson - BALLAGH STAR (13) won well over fences here earlier in the month and may be able to repeat the trick over the smaller obstacles. The Ask gelding went up to a mark of 91 after that 10-length success and runs off a 10lb lower rating now over timber. Grace Faraday won here on her penultimate visit and ran well off a revised rating at the venue earlier this month. She seems to like Ballybrit, having recorded two of her three career wins here, and could be a leading contender again. Boola Times, another that scored on his penultimate outing, takes a big jump up in distance now and is another to consider.

Sure he got there and he won, so we’re happy with that. We thought he needed to be handy the whole time and he didn’t. We said we’d take our time today, he travelled and they came back to him. Jody gets on with her, whatever it is. The lads (sons), Danny and Jack, have ridden her and she doesn’t go as well for them as she does for Jody. She’ll probably stay on her now, but where we’ll go with her I don’t know. It’s brilliant for her to break her maiden here and she won well. The fact that she’s owned by Natalie, my wife, makes it ever better. I went to Down Royal with her last Friday week and I think the journey up was a problem.
