Formscan By Michael Graham - THE SHORT GO ran well when placed in two staying handicap chases at Cheltenham in October and December, so should be a factor here. He had a break before finishing mid-division in the Ultima at the Cheltenham Festival in March and is likely to come on from that run. Crucially, he is adept on better ground. Top-weight O'moore Park finds it difficult to win, but has posted plenty of solid results and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him involved. The veteran Happy Jacky is rated much lower over fences than hurdles. He hasn't been out since September, but has won off an absence before. Caesar Rock and The Gradual Slope are two that can get into contention off light weights.

I'm delighted for the Byrnes as we chose not to go to (local) Listowel last week because of the ground. We ended up here and while it wasn't ideal for him, he handled it well. He was keen early but Rachael was very keen to hold him up as he ran so blind in Galway. Once they went on, he jumped great and she was brilliant on him. It was lovely to see him pick up after the last. I haven't really looked ahead as we said we'd start today and get him jumping. It is great he handled that softer ground though so that will help him.

He was leaning off the rail a little bit. He showed a bit of greenness with Jack (Kennedy) the last day in Wexford, so he's still a baby but he has got plenty of pace. He probably won snug enough at the line. Probably wasn't ideal making the running, but it just looked like there was going to be no pace. I told Finn if he was to make it to go steady and he did, so he got his fractions right. He jumped very slick; he's a good jumper. He obviously was point-to-pointing, so he has loads of experience. I actually don't think he is slow, he's not a slow horse. He could run over any trip really. The horses are flying, thank God. Obviously, the summer horses are probably running a little bit dry now and all the winter horses start coming in in the next couple of weeks, so it is exciting times.

This fella has been very good to me although age has caught up with him. The handicapper dropped him a few pounds though and Eoin's claim was also very valuable. He always showed spark at home so I always felt he'd win another race and he had his conditions with soft ground in today's slow-run race. He is one of my stable stars and he brings on and leads the young stock at home. That's the way he likes to be trained now and he'll keep going now, so hopefully he can win another one.
