Formscan By Michael Graham - This is a significant lowering of sights for the 133-rated NORTH SHORE that he can take advantage of. His third place in a Leopardstown Grade 2 in addition to a fourth place at the highest level at the same venue merit plenty of respect. He hasn't been at his best in two subsequent runs, but should appreciate these calmer waters. Portnahapple has switched to Willie Mullins for his jumping debut after two more than promising runner-up berths on the Flat for Andy Oliver. He has to rate a major threat given the ability that he has shown and given that he will be well schooled for this assignment. Whats New has a shot at prize money, while Messire Des Bordes is a possible improver.

He wasn’t winning out of turn. It wasn’t exactly a strong race, but he had been running consistently well in that grade. It’s just great to get it done for the owners (Joe Bolger) today. Obviously, he took a heavy fall only a week-and-a-half ago (in Killarney), but he’s always schooled well at home and I’d say that the run over jumps probably did help him. Hopefully he’ll be winning over jumps as well.
