Formscan By Stuart Howden - The dual bumper winner TEOFIL (5) can open his account on the Flat. He ran a cracker when second on his debut at the Punchestown Festival back in April before scoring at the Galway Festival and again at Killarney in August, form that surely gives him a chance against the Listowel Festival handicap hurdle runner-up Shirzan who was a maiden hurdle winner on soft ground at Limerick in March and unfortunate to be disqualified after scoring at Tramore in August when his jockey weighed in light. Sunny South West won two bumpers and a maiden hurdle last year and has reached the frame on a number of occasions since, most recently when third to Ebony King at Listowel last month. Purple Bandit looks the best of the three-year-olds on what he showed at Roscommon.

Quotes on Fiveonefive (IRE)
Cartmel had been the plan to hopefully win a race for the fourth year in-a-row but it didn't go to plan. I told the lads that he'd win in Galway instead and thankfully it worked out. It was a masterclass from Jack and only for him, I don't think he'd have won. I know Jack since our pony racing days and we've had good fun through the years. He was the first horse I ever bought. He was initially one of three horses in my yard and is the yard favourite. He isn't an easy horse and Ray Loftus has always ridden him out, but he was cheap and I got two great owners, Salvatore Giannini from Wales and Tony Lagan from the north, involved. The horse has seen it all happen in my yard and this is my first Galway Festival winner, so to get one over the line is brilliant.

Quotes on Sunny South West (IRE)
I’m very happy with him. In time he’ll want two and a half and that’s probably where we’ll go the next day in Galway. He never jumped those rubber hurdles before and was jumping Easyfix hurdles quite well at home. He had a look at a few of them but will come on a lot from that. He was probably travelling too well and had too much time to think about it going down to the jumps. He’s a horse with plenty of ability and we’ll keep trying till we find exactly how good he is. There is a two and a half mile novice in Galway on the Thursday. Ross (O’Sullivan) won it with a horse called Donnie Devito last year that I sold to him.

Quotes on Teofil (IRE)
Sparan Nua ran a cracker and she was just unlucky. She has a few scars on her following the race, but she will be ok. I wouldn't think those will hold her up though and we'll be sticking to the Group 1s from now on.

Quotes on Shirzan (IRE)
Her homework had been very good and we've been happy with her previous runs. It all came together today. Her bumper run is working out very well, and that was on ground which we didn't think she was a fan of. Even today, we didn't think she'd love that ground but she is progressing well. She has a nice turn of foot and the plan today was to run along the rail and to wait for gaps to appear. She went straight into the gap and appeared to have plenty in the tank at the end. It was nice to get it and I wish they were all that easy!. We'll see what rating she gets now and hopefully there'll be nice handicaps to be won with her. She can run through the summer.
