Formscan By Stuart Howden - THE AUSTRIAN (1) might just add to his recent maiden success as he starts out in handicaps. He went close when a runner-up over 10 furlongs at the Curragh in August and then secured his first win over a trip closer to today's at Listowel when well on top as an odds-on favourite. Cladach has been busy in recent weeks and turns out again after taking third place behind the well-backed favourite Suir Monard at Killarney on Monday. He has certainly held his form well as has Nermal who was a winner over 10 furlongs at Roscommon at the end of June and wasn't beaten far at all from a wide draw at the Galway Festival next time.

The last day they didn’t go much of a gallop but three of them took each other on there and it was a big help to us,. He’s an okay little horse, he deserved that but he could be at the full of his handicap mark now. I'd say we’ll start popping him over hurdles.
