Formscan By Tom Weekes - SHADYS LADY was well held in three recent hurdle runs but was capable in bumpers. Runner-up to smart Switch From Diesel last March, the selection defeated a subsequent-winner by 10 lengths when scoring last November and while she failed to match that form subsequently, ran satisfactorily last month and is suited by testing ground conditions. Brosna Queen won a bumper last June and while well held at Listed level subsequently, can get involved on her jumping debut. Catchabird is rated just 96 but receives weight from the previous winners. Lady Fromentro is out of a winning-dam who has already produced a black-type performer, so could be capable.

I think she’s a good filly and she’s still green. Michael Sharpe rides her at home and Garret Malone, they do a brilliant job on her because she’s not simple. We might give her a break and bring her back for the Mucklemeg (at Gowran) or Cheltenham in November. We’ll try and get some black type with her as she has a very nice pedigree.

she wasn’t in long enough when we entered her in Roscommon and we kind of got roped into running because it looked like a very weak race. A mile-and-seven furlongs racing on good around Roscommon is sharp and she just doesn’t have the speed. She stays. If she produced her form from here in March (when finishing second to smart mare Switch From Diesel) she’d win, so I was delighted. Neil O’Mahony was my first owner eight years ago and has been with me through thick and thin, so it’s great to get another winner for him. She’ll probably go for a maiden hurdle now.
