You Make Me Smile is the second reserve, but she bids to double up, akin to last year, after winning a Sligo handicap hurdle. The Rock Factor may also be worth watching in the market.

He’s definitely my favourite. I’m delighted that he’s won because now people can stop saying that he hasn’t won since 2021! He’s got that off his back anyway,. I actually thought today wasn’t soft enough but he just jumped and travelled. He was delighted with himself in that grade. At the end of last year I stepped him up to a mile-and-a-half because it was going to be his last race and I was going to retire him but he ran so well we said we’d keep going. We’re delighted with him, he’s a horse that we’ve always liked,. He had a few problems last year as a three-year-old, but we got them sorted. We had to hold him for the summer because of the quick ground. The last day in Navan we expected him to run well but he got pestered on the lead and, on that ground, he just took a blow. It was the first time all year that he got that sort of a gallop on that type of ground. He came out of the box on Thursday morning bucking and lepping so we said we’d come here and take our chance with bottom weight. Thankfully it worked out. The jockey was keen to get him dropped in and get a lead on him today, because we made a bit too much use of him the last day. It was a combination of making too much use of him and the ground. He hadn’t encountered that all year, because we couldn’t get a grass gallop into him. We thought he was better than that, so were surprised he got beaten the last day. We saw that he had come on from the race and we were hopeful here today. He’s a big horse, he’s nearly 16-3, and he’ll probably jump a hurdle as well. He’s an exciting horse for the future.

Hugh is more than capable, he gave that horse a lovely ride because he isn’t the easiest and can be tricky. He got him into a sweet rhythm and did everything right. Limestone Red has been very consistent but the handicaps up here are very tight, with the draw having a big impact. I'm not making an excuse but he has had bad draws all along, . You'd nearly think it was easy!. He's a great honest horse and he loved the ground. Terry gave him a great ride and he had him in the right place all the way. The instructions he got were when he got to the top bend, take it up. Away he went. He's very adaptable and a good honest horse. He wants to win, that's the main thing. He probably will (get more hurdle opportunities). Hopefully, the handicapper doesn't go mad now. When he gets those conditions in those types of races, he's an honest horse. Terry deserves it, a hard worker.
