Permission was given for Dancing Magic (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post wearing a red hood and for both Touchwood (IRE) and Outrun The Storm (IRE) to go early to post.

Leaving the stalls, Outrun The Storm (IRE), placed second, jumped very awkwardly and shifted right- handed hampering Arantes Nascimento (GB), placed third, which in turn inconvenienced Bay Breeze (GB), unplaced, moving that gelding into the path of Wobwobwob, placed fifth, which was impeded and in turn caused Bear Force One (GB), unplaced, to be checked by its rider, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Outrun The Storm (IRE).

An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend involving Arantes Nascimento (GB), placed third, ridden by Miss Amy Collier, and Outrun The Storm (IRE), placed second, ridden by Mr Eireann Cagney.

Miss Megan Jordan, the rider of Dancing Magic (IRE), unplaced, was also interviewed but found not to be involved.

Miss Collier was suspended for 4 days for careless riding, on dates to be notified to her by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, as she allowed her mount to shift left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear of Outrun The Storm (IRE), causing Mr Cagney to take a significant check and hit the running rail.

An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the home bend involving Red Mirage (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mr Matt Brown, and Bear Force One (GB), unplaced, ridden by Mr Ned Sangster.

Mr Brown was cautioned for careless riding as he shifted his mount right-handed when insufficiently clear of Bear Force One (GB), carrying that gelding wider off its intended line.

Following the race, Miss Charli Parker reported that Touchwood (IRE), unplaced, was very slowly away and the Veterinary Officer reported that Outrun The Storm (IRE), placed second, lost its right-hind shoe.
