Just inside the 2 furlong marker, Lumenbourg (GB), unplaced, shifted quickly left-handed under a right- handed drive, taking Patontheback (IRE), placed second, off its intended line, which in turn carried Wicklow Way (IRE), unplaced, off its intended line, resulting in Coonawarra Star (FR), unplaced, being carried off its intended line and its rider to have to take a precautionary check when caught on the heels of Yafaarr (IRE), placed third, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Mark Winn reported that Coonawarra Star (FR), unplaced, suffered interference approximately 2 furlongs out and Shane Gray reported that Evocative Spark (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run approximately 2 furlongs out.
