THE SATURDAY SUPER BOOST AT BetVictor HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Permission was given for HEADMASTER and TARKHAN (GER) to wear a red hood to post.
The raceday privilege request for CHAMPAGNE POWDER (FR), trained by Oliver Cole, to wear a red hood to post was late being submitted.
Cole was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.
Approximately 1 furlong out, GLENFINNAN (IRE), placed fourth, shifted slightly right-handed at the same time as the winner, HEADMASTER was presented into a legitimate gap, which resulted in HEADMASTER being carried right-handed and making contact with BOLD IMPACT (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of GLENFINNAN (IRE) or HEADMASTER.
The performance of TELEMARK (IRE), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Simon & Ed Crisford could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance, other than confirming Jack Mitchell’s report that TELEMARK (IRE) was never travelling.
