Permission was given for Supido (FR), Sex On Fire (IRE), Miami Matrix (IRE), and Sweet Fantastic (IRE) to all wear a red hood to the start.
Inside the final furlong, Our Mighty Mo (IRE), placed fourth, edged right-handed carrying Sweet Fantastic (IRE), placed third, marginally off its intended line which in turn moved the winner, El Burhan (IRE) also off its intended line resulting in High On Hope (GB), unplaced, becoming short of room when caught on heels, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
George Wood, the rider of Sex On Fire (IRE), placed sixth, struck the whip of Andrew Mullen, the rider of Miami Matrix (IRE), unplaced, knocking it from his grasp inside the final ½ furlong, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was considered to be accidental.
Following the race, Warren Fentiman reported that High On Hope (GB), unplaced, suffered interference inside the final furlong.
