FormscanBy Tom Weekes - WICKLOW BRAVE is king of the 'soft touch' and while he faces a tough task today, might be able to give weight away and win. He has been well placed to rattle up a four-timer (at odds of 4/5, 1/6, 1/25 and 1/16) in recent months and as a proven performer at this trip and on reasonably easy ground, he might be able to possibly make all on a track on which he ran a good race in defeat when second here in July. Former stablemate Arctic Fire has returned to good form recently, winning nicely over three miles at Cork in August. He retains plenty of his old high class ability and gets a hefty 11lbs from the selection, but it is a concern that he could now lack a gear on his return to this two miles trip. Galway Hurdle fourth Bedrock gets 4lbs from the selection but could lack the scope to beat him and Arctic Fire. Former Triumph Hurdle winner Ivanovich Gorbatov has returned to some form recently and cannot be totally dismissed while similarly owned Plinth caused an upset when winning this race in 2015 but should struggle today. Tombstone remains very much a 'nearly' horse and has plenty to prove on his return to hurdles today.
