Out of a Galileo-mare, the selection disappointed badly here last August but has recently shown glimpses of form and finished well behind today’s rival Darius Dark at both Cork in April and at the Curragh last month. His same rider utilises his 5lb claim today. Darius Dark is chasing a four-timer but is 8lb higher than at the Curragh, where today’s same rider claimed 2lb. Vantage Code has changed ownership since finishing second to Nermal at Roscommon and steps up further in trip while Themis scored easily at Limerick, but is 14lb higher. It took two attempts for Admiral Will Brown to land a substantial gamble, and is 14lb higher than Roscommon.

He was good, he had a good run the last day and we thought he had come forward,. Shane was just waiting, he wanted to go up the inside. I was a bit worried about the ground beforehand but I rang Shane on my way down here, after the first race, and he said ‘no, it’s grand, if he can’t go on that he can’t go on anything’. He quickened up well. It’s only his second run and he’s still very green. I think it was a solid maiden. He said he got that well and he’ll end up going a mile-and-a-half, despite being by Calyx. I don’t think he’d go on very soft ground. It’s nice to get his head in front, it’ll keep the (Alpha Racing) syndicate happy as they all have expectations unfortunately now!. He’s not man enough for a handicap yet so we’ll see where we go now.

He had a turn of foot on it (ground). Looking at the pedigree, I don't think anything has gone any further than a mile. I was conscious there to drop him out and give him a chance to come home. He showed a lovely turn of foot. He (Carroll) said he really handled that ground, and I suppose (other) horses hate that tacky ground. He actually enjoyed it.

He’s a big backward fella. Ben said he was on and off the bridle and he was still green. He’s a bit of a work in progress. He stays a mile-and-a-half well and it was good to see him perform on that kind of ground as well. It was a very competitive race; there were a lot of fancied horses in it. He has come on from his last run. The last run really zoned him in and hopefully he can keep progressing through the ranks.
