Curragh Sun, 16th Aug, 2026  Liberation Date She broke smartly and got into a good rhythm in front,. Orla gave her a similar ride here in a premier handicap. We just put a line through the last day (in Gowran) as she got too hot in the parade-ring. In fairness Dylan (Browne McMonagle) suggested putting a red hood on today and it worked. She was in off a lovely weight today with Orla’s 7lb off her and she gave her a good ride. She’s a tough filly. She broke smart and got a good advantage but, in fairness to Orla, she knows what she’s at. She gave her plenty of a fill and said she’d let them come to her and push her on. She’s a good rider and will get plenty of rides off us. We might look at going for another premier handicap with her. She finished third here in one (in late June).

He just got a bit fractious when we were saddling him on Monday evening, so we tried the hood tonight. . I don't think he's ever worn it in his life. For the first half of the race, I was wondering was he gone too quiet! . That's just the chances we take, and thankfully it came off this time. He was very relaxed in the first half of the race and he was able to conserve energy. The race was over in the dip. The extra distance helped as well.

He was very free early on, but Billy got him settled in behind. He said once he got a bit of cover, he settled lovely. He was doing a half-speed into the dip. When you look at the head-on, you'd say he had no chance coming through that wall of horses. Billy said he had so much horse underneath him, he was just waiting for an opening. As soon as it opened, he was gone through them. . A great sign of a horse is what he did after the line, he couldn't pull him up. That to me showed me that there is huge improvement there. He has plenty of speed, you saw that last year. What he also has now is stamina. With the two of them, we have a proper racehorse. He'll be out of handicaps now, so we'll look at Listed or group races.

He needed every inch of the mile and a half and it would not surprise me if he goes a bit further in time. He’s a work in progress and he’s going the right way. He’s got his act together today and hopefully he keeps progressing.

Gowran Park Sat, 25th Jul, 2026  Hambelton He's a horse in the making,. We won't be in a rush to run him back now. We had contemplated bringing him to York for the Ebor Festival, but I don't think we will. I'd say we'll wait for three or four weeks. Coming back here 15 days after York was always a bit of a worry. He's definitely a horse for the future and is only going to get better next year.

Down Royal Fri, 17th Jul, 2026  Youcansaythatagain He's a nice horse. He was a very late foal and we had to just take our time with him, but he has a very nice pedigree. We always thought there was something in the tank, so we never really pushed too hard. This year he has come to himself and we think there is more to come. He's a horse that seems to be improving all the time, great attitude at home and is thriving really well. Very green (on debut) and even there when Billy pulled him out, he was a bit green and ran about a bit, but straightened himself and come home. Actually looked to have won it nicely enough in the end.

Fairyhouse Wed, 1st Jul, 2026  Caitouna We were meant to go to Dundalk in a few weeks for a three-year-old only but I said to Pat that I didn’t think she was working well enough to wait for it so we said we’d run here,. Pat said put Colin up if he’s available and it was a good decision. He gave her a great ride. When I saw the draw yesterday and I said I wished she wasn’t running here. I don’t think she did anything right and she won so it’s great. She’s really strengthened up. On all her runs until now it looked like she wanted seven but to ride her at home you’d think she wanted further.

Limerick Fri, 19th Jun, 2026  Motta Alta She had a nice run in Naas when she was a little keen early and didn't see out the mile, although I don't see any problems with her getting that trip when she settles. Nathan said she was keen again today and that it took him a while to get cover for her. It was softer than ideal for her, but she handled it well and saw out the distance. She is a typical Ghaiyyath who knows how to gallop and run. We'll see what the handicapper gives her, and I have her leased from her breeders Deer Forest Stud, so we'll see if the owners want to sell her.

Cork Sun, 14th Jun, 2026  Hambelton He is a huge, huge horse. He is like a point-to-pointer and is a typical Ghaiyyath. He is brilliantly behaved at home, a child would ride him, but he likes to get on with the job at the racecourse. To be fair to him, that's the first time he has ever stepped foot on good ground and that is what he has been crying out for. The ground came up too soft for him at Haydock the last day and I think he is a very nice horse who will progress a lot. He'll be sold later in the year and could be a lovely horse for someone for next year.

Leopardstown Thu, 4th Jun, 2026  My Girl Grace She is raw as hell and I told the owner 'she is going to be lovely’,. I doubt she'll ever run over ten (furlongs) again after tonight. She'll be wanting further but it's a nice place to start over ten and we'll see where it gets us. I'd say the rain that's fallen and the ground actually came in our favour. You'd love how she went through from A to B all the way, and from the winning post to the pulling up was the most impressive part of it.

Naas Sat, 9th May, 2026  Bint Majestic Roi We were worried about the ground. She'd probably have been a very unlucky loser if she got beat as she got no run. She just lacks a bit of toe on that ground. Probably 7f she wants really; that's her trip. Andrew didn't want me to run her. He said the ground was too quick. I said that I wanted to see if she was one for the Scurrys over six-and-a-half. She had to win today to go for that. That's the plan now.

Curragh Sun, 19th Apr, 2026  Bint Majestic Roi She was bred to be a mile-and-a-quarter filly and we were training her that way,. Then we started working her this year and she was leading a few horses. Suddenly they couldn’t get to her so we said ‘maybe this one is a sprinter’. We bought her for six grand last year in the Newmarket sales. She has a good pedigree, she’s by Ghaiyyath and it’s all stamina. The dam is a half-sister to Hi Riyal, who was second in a Guineas. We’ll keep tipping away and see where she ends up. We own her ourselves, she runs in my nephew William’s colours. If someone comes for her we’ll never refuse money!
