Coquin Mans steps back up in trip at Clonmel this afternoon after chasing home a couple of star performers on his last two outings.

Willie Mullins' charge had to play second fiddle to much-hyped stablemate Melon at Down Royal, having also filled the runner-up spot behind former Champion Hurdle hero Jezki at Tipperary previously.

Both those runs came over the minimum trip and the French-bred now tackles three miles again in the Jim Strang & Sons Kilsheelan (Peugeot) Hurdle having been successful twice over the trip in the summer months.

Staying would appear to be more his game and the five-year-old gets his chance to shine now in the conditions event.

He does have to give weight away to all his rivals and Taglietelle looks well matched getting 10lb.

As Gordon Elliott's charge is rated 10lb inferior on official terms, there would appear to be nothing between the pair at the weights.

The admirable Val De Ferbet also lines up in the five-runner event but he does look to have a bit to find on ratings.

Mullins also saddles an interesting French import in the concluding two-mile-three-furlong maiden hurdle. Draconien shaped with plenty of promise on his sole run in France when fourth in a Grade One contest. Patrick Mullins takes the mount now in the amateur contest.

Elliott will be hoping Monbeg Worldwide can get off the mark over timber in the opening Clonmel Maiden Hurdle.

The Gigginstown gelding lost his unbeaten record when going down to Jetz on his hurdling debut at Fairyhouse last month.

This looks a slightly easier task for the three-time bumper winner now and with the benefit of a run, he should prove hard to beat.

The Monbeg horses, from the point-to-point nursery of Donnchadh Doyle, have proved very successful in recent seasons and Monbeg Chit Chat could be another to score on the card.

Henry de Bromhead's charge, also in the Gigginstown colours, appeared to tire late on when making his chasing debut in Cork last month.

He drops back in trip now and, with the benefit of an outing, has to have a big shout in the two-mile contest.

Elliott saddles an obvious danger in Robin Des Mana who ran well to chase home Blast Of Koeman in a rated novice event at Fairyhouse last time out.
