The Ger Lyons trained Thirteen Diamonds (7/1), under Colin Keane, proved the solution to the concluding Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Maiden at Dundalk this evening, comfortably beating off a number of well backed horses.

The 64 rated gelding had been largely ignored in the market throughout the day as money, at various stages, came for Mister Royal (16/1 into 4s), runner-up Whippers Dream (33/1 into 6s), Meadowlands (33/1 into 14s) and Smiler (12/1 into 4/1f).

Following the win, Lyons' brother and assistant Shane Lyons stated "I'm delighted for Declan (Landy, owner) after sticking with him. We were running him over the wrong trip as we were getting fooled by the speed he was showing at home.

"He'll make a right horse for the all-weather in England as he's proven now that he stays. He's for sale."
