Geraghty records Limerick double

Sat 13th Jun 2009, 20:52

Jockey Barry Geraghty twice substituted for the injured Paul Carberry to record a double at Limerick today, completing the brace on Gordon Elliott's Buachaill On Eirne who proved the fortunate winner of the Syncreon Technology Beginners Chase.

Buachaill On Eirne looked booked for the runner-up spot when Spiriton went to the front before the second last fence but Paul Cashman's runner took a heavy fall at the fence, leaving Buachaill On Eirne to come home a four lengths winner.

Afterwards Elliott mentioned both the Galway and Perth Festivals as possible targets, saying "Buachaill On Eirne loves good ground."
