The Ger Lyons trained Moravia made it third time lucky at Leopardstown, winning the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden in impressive fashion under Champion Jockey Colin Keane.

The daughter of Siyouni maintained a strong gallop to eventually go clear of runner-up Secret Thoughts scoring a four and a half lengths win.

Lyons, “that was impressive. She surprised me at Naas (last time) as Gary (Carroll) got off and the first thing he said was 'I couldn’t lay up', so it was automatic that we were going to step her up after that.

“Colin loved her and she loved the ground. He said it’s all about trip, and she will get further in time. Her temperament is good. She got warm but she was entitled to as it’s a warm day.

“I loved the way her maiden went (on debut) but I was disappointed in the Listed race as I liked her. I got her trip wrong as I thought at that time she would have the pace to do six but she didn’t.

“In fairness Gary called it spot on and on that, we have a lot to look forward to.”
