Trainer Ger Lyons and stable and Champion Jockey Colin Keane combined for a treble at Tipperary today as Tennessee Waltz got up on the line to win the Meadowview Stables Race.

The eight year old son of Kheleyf is a yard favourite in Lyons' Co Meath yard and was today scoring a sixth success, when getting up on the line under a hands and heels ride from Keane to edge Flavius by a short-head.

Lyons' Glenburnie yard had earlier struck with Gold Jasmine and Blue Uluru and following this third success, he commented “I thought he was denied but that is the secret and that's why he is Champion Jockey; just leave it to him and keep it simple!

“He was pulled up before the went around the bend after the stands, that's how much he knows about the game!

“We'll keep trying to win a race with him every year and keep having fun. I can't drop him because he keeps doing that and is fantastic as a lead horse at home. He is push-button and knows where and when to go on the gallops and is a dinger. Gary Carroll loves him and is his favourite horse.

“That's his trip and at Dundalk over ten furlongs and 100 yards, the 100 yards kills him.

“It's a super night's work so I'm delighted.”
