Tribal Nation heads O'Brien treble prospects in Killarney

The five-day Killarney July meeting gets underway this evening while jumping fans are also catered for with an afternoon card at Downpatrick.

Joseph O’Brien and Dylan Browne McMonagle look the combination to follow at Killarney this evening with three strong chances on a seven-race card beginning at 5.15. Tribal Nation looks sure to go off at odds-on against just three rivals in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race at 5.45, while Defiantly (7.45) and Magnolia Drive (8.15) are hold major claims in the final two races.

Following 5mm of rain the going at Killarney is currently described as good, good to yielding in places. The forecast is unsettled with 15-20mm of rain expected in the next 24 hours.

The action at Downpatrick gets underway at 2.28 and Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy have bright prospects of sharing a double with Jazz De Cotte (3.58) and Lakota Blue (4.28).

The going at the northern venue is currently good, good to firm in places and the forecast is dry and breezy with the chance of a passing shower.
