Preview navan 13th Feb

Three Grade Two contests provide the highlights of an excellent card at Navan, with the feature being the ladbrokes.com Boyne Hurdle.

Won memorably by War Of Attrition 12 months ago, this year's contest has a very classy look to it, with Shinrock Paddy, Moskova and Rigour Back Bob all in good heart.

However, Colm Murphy has opted to run Voler La Vedette and if she returns to the form of her penultimate outing, when beaten just over three lengths by the mighty Hurricane Fly, she could prove a class above.

Murphy will also have high hopes for glory in the Ten Up Novice Chase, after his Quito De La Roque won well at Naas last time.

Royal De La Thinte appeared held by Murphy's charge when falling in that contest and has a bit to find, so the biggest threat could be The Hurl, who scored over shorter at Gowran Park last time and has winning form at this distance over hurdles.

The Flyingbolt Novice Chase features Mikael D'Haguenet and Quel Esprit but both had preferred engagements at Leopardstown on Saturday, so Torphichen may be the one.

Third in Grade One company at Fairyhouse last time, he is likely to make his presence felt here, though Fairyhouse winner Montan won't go down without a fight.

The meeting kicks off at 1.50 with the Marge Browne Memorial Maiden Hurdle, where Jetson will attempt to end a sequence of near-misses over timber.

If he's fit after a layoff, then prolific bumper winner Our Musician could prove a massive danger, while Bog Warrior and Macareo are others likely to be there at the business end.

Naas runner-up Dantes King will be out to go one better in the Irish Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle, while the Navan Racecourse Handicap Hurdle could be between Guestofthenation and Odonimee.
