< Clon Rocket left his debut form a long way behind when making it second-time lucky in the Irish Stallion Farms Median Auction Maiden at Sligo.

Stone last in the Navan heat fought out by subsequent Group winners Most Beautiful and Waterloo Bridge, Willie McCreery's youngster appreciated this less taxing assignment.

The 25-1 shot took the lead off Fair Game inside the final furlong and had two and a quarter lengths in hand of Set To Fire at the line.< Shamash proved much too strong for his opponents in the Sligo Champion Supporting Sligo GAA Maiden.

Mick Halford's 9-2 chance was kept wide by Shane Foley and raced down the home straight near the stands rail but he was always in control and accounted for Crossandra by five and a half lengths.< Cash Or Casualty was given every chance to gain just reward for his recent spell of consistency in the Joe Queenan Gala Strandhill Supporting Sligo GAA Handicap.

However, he couldn't quite repel the late thrust of Enter The Red (8-1), who prevailed by a head.< The Ring Is King had shown precious little in 2015 leading into the Sligo Students Day 30th September Handicap but was 12lb lower than his last winning Flat mark and he capitalised.

Allowed to go off at 16-1, Paul Flynn's six-year-old was joined by Sheilas Wish as he took the lead inside the final furlong but pulled out more to triumph by a length.

Robbie Downey went for home on 15-8 market leader Three Colours Red before the two-furlong pole in the Sligo Racing Club Apprentice Handicap and the move was decisive as he held Chicago Secret by five lengths.

There was also jumping action and Shadagann (7-4) overturned even-money favourite Crystal Earth in the Kilcawley Construction Sligo Maiden Hurdle, while Slygufftou (11-4) left it late but completed a hat-trick in the Sligo Park Hotel Handicap Hurdle.
