I’m delighted with that, I was meant to run last weekend, but she didn’t get into the race in Chester,. I told Ian and Mick that we’d come here for this race, and Mick was a bit disappointed as he likes to have runners in Listowel, but I said the ground would suit her better here. She likes that quick ground. She didn’t run as well the last time in the Curragh, because it was a little bit softer for her. She won over seven in Leopardstown and it was six the last day as well. She was back to seven today, happy days.

that is very important as she has a lovely pedigree. Steve Fisher owns and bred her, so I'm delighted to get this win. They were going to pull up stumps with her but I said to hold on, as she has heart and I just had to place her right. She is four, is very small and knows she is very small, as she won't go up through horses. They went hard which suited and it is job done today. Billy gave her a lovely ride and I love giving him winners, as he is in two mornings a week when he gets up at 5am. He is with me 14 years and is a great horseman and jockey. He has all the attributes for a jockey, is brave in the stalls and everywhere, and I couldn't say enough about him.

Punchestown Tue, 15th Sep, 2026 Sanctijude

the race worked out perfectly for Sanctijude as they went a good pace early on and Billy was able to sit on her. She seemed to like that bit of ease in the ground. I said to Michael Deegan (owner) half-way around that we’d find out whether she wants 1m1f or not, as they went a good gallop from the start, which seemed to suit her. She’s a consistent filly, if not a bit unlucky, as when she hits the front, she downs tools a little bit. We’ll find something similar in the near future, now that the ground has come for her.

Make The Tide is home-bred by Dave and Sarah Hyland of Oghill Stud so I’m delighted. She’s actually very well-bred and is a half-sister to Hopewell Rock, who was narrowly denied in the Ebor. She’s by a good sire (Make Believe) as well. She was always weak and Billy said every time he rode her to let her strengthen up. I don’t know if she’s going to strengthen up much more, she’s that kind of build. We’ll see what the handicapper does and look for something similar. I’d say she won’t mind a bit of easier ground.

he is owned by Tom McParland and Joey Kirwan who are two good pals of mine, so I’m delighted. He is from a very good Airlie Stud family and is by Tamayuz who I like, and has sired (stablemate) Jancis. He was bought cheaply (€22,000) because he was a rig but I thought he was good value and told the boys we’d have to be patient. I went back for a maiden because he ran a good race in Killarney the last day and I thought he’d have the experience for a maiden at this time of year. He showed a good attitude and fought to the line.

That was lovely. She’s my first runner for Giampiero Vellucci so I’m delighted. He was just on there and he’s absolutely thrilled. He’s a solicitor in Italy. She’s a big weak filly and the more time we gave her, the more she has strengthened up. She has always shown ability. I was a bit worried that the track here might be a bit tight for her. She was on the front end and Billy dictated. I thought he got it spot on. She met a bit of trouble the last day, but I think she was a bit weak and was wandering. Today, she had her ears pricked everywhere and was enjoying it. She’s not really a handicap-type filly. We’ll try and snatch a bit of black type with her. She’s a big filly and I don’t think she’ll suit handicaps, she’s not mentally there yet. Smaller fields will suit her.

She just dropped into that (0-60) grade last week and I’m sure she’ll be back out of it again, but we’ll find something similar,. They went very hard and it suited us from a bad draw. She broke well but Billy said they were going too hard, so he let her slot in. He said it’s beautiful ground here and she just got there. There is only one winning post and I’m delighted. I’m delighted for Ciaran (O’Reilly). He’s a local man and they bred that filly as well. He’s a St Brigid’s (GAA) man here in Roscommon.

That’s grand, she’s my own. Amanda and myself bred her,. said McCreery. She’s Happy Henry’s little sister, so it’s great that the two of them have won this year, it keeps everything rolling. It’s great to get another winner for Billy, he’s riding out of his skin. I’m delighted. We’ll look for something similar for her.

That was impressive and I’m delighted to have her. She’s a lovely big, strong filly and she’s all natural. She’s never been away from the place and I’m delighted with her. I think she’s a decent filly, everything she has done she’s done nicely. I’m delighted to have one for Tally-Ho. Her half-sister (Wakanaka), by Power, was a very good filly. She went on to America and was rated around 110. This filly has natural ability and we’ll see where the lads want to go now. It’ll be a stakes race and she won’t mind a bit of ease in the ground either.
