Monteriggioni came from last to first to score under top weight here for owner and trainer John Geoghegan in the hands of Pauric Beggy. The six-year-old followed up on an encouraging seasonal reappearance at Dundalk nine days ago to land this having crawled out of the stalls.

A premier handicap is probably going to be next on his agenda as a further hike is probably going to follow and the possibility of hurdling have been shelved until later in the year.

Head On The River wasn't disgraced in the Lincoln and the further two furlongs certainly brought out the best of him here. Could be a nice staying handicap in him yet.

Vaqueras is another who ran a good race under a hefty weight but he is just finding a few too good every day. He is sure to be mixed over hurdles and on the level and this latest run may leave him in top shape for his next hurdling appearance.

The same could be said of Definate Spectacle who is likely to be jumping a hurdle the next time he is seen in public. He plugged away to claim fourth here but he would not have been suited by the dead ground and needs it a good bit quicker.

Silver Tide won a Wolverhampton maiden last November and this wasn't a bad return on just his second appearance in handicap company.
